Aveland Court is an outstanding care home. Every member of it’s staff shows love and affection and nothing is too much trouble. Aveland Court is spotlessly clean, the meals provided are wholesome, fresh and beautifully cooked. My mother’s room is light and spacious and has her own pictures and ornaments around her. There are daily activities like gentle exercise, a singer, pet visitors (very much appreciated by my mum), bingo, arts and crafts and much more. It’s created a new happy chapter of Mum’s life. She is happy and so am I. Feel so happy to have found Aveland Court.

Since my Mum came to Aveland Court, she has been more settled and happy than in previous places. The staff are all kind, and caring and nothing is ever too much trouble. They have helped my Mum settle so well into the home and made her room feel like a safe space that’s her own and also decorated it in colours my Mm had chosen. There is always something to keep my Mum entertained such as days out, activities, and live entertainment. Aveland Court is an amazing place that feels more like a family rather than a care home. This home was most definitely the right decision we could have made for Mum.

We have been pleasantly surprised with Lorna House. We had not known exactly what to expect but we found a friendly, family vibe to the place. The room is spacious and has a great garden aspect. Staff are present, professional and always easy to find. My dad seems relaxed and well cared for. On the whole, great!

The standards of this home are truly impressive in every way. There has been a lot of work to refurbish/improve. The staff are so helpful kind and patient and ensure visitors and residents have everything they need. The cook and the decorator are an integral part of the team as well. The manager/owner? Not only runs a fantastic team but is just as good as the team. Amazing experience today thank you.

We found that Lorna House and its staff provided everything we could ask for and my mum loves it. She been here since November 2017 and loves it. The staff are so kind and friendly and nothing seems to be a problem.Couldn’t wish for better care anywhere.This place is the best.

About Us

Founded by Issac Theophilos, Bliss Care is the embodiment of a passion for exceptional care that has been honed over a decade. Issac’s journey began in 2010 as a caregiver in a care home, progressing to a nursing role in 2011. By 2014, he was managing a Dementia Specialist nursing home, achieving an Outstanding rating on a CQC inspection the following year.

In 2018, Issac’s work earned an Outstanding rating across all five domains of CQC inspection. That same year, he penned the best-selling guide for care homes, “How to Get Outstanding.” Over the next four years, he used his wealth of experience to consult for care homes, providing auditing, business operational, and strategic support. In 2022, Bliss Care was launched, with its first project being the successful turnaround of Aveland Court Care Home in Torquay.
