Bliss Care Community
Taking care of an older person can be isolating and tiring sometimes, despite your lifelong relationship with that person. As we get older, our friends and family community get smaller and smaller. Most older people get isolated for the same reason.
Bliss Care Community is a non-profit community that brings together people who care for an older adult as unpaid carers. The main objective is to reduce the isolation and burnout of the person providing care.
Navigating social care is a minefield. You will be able to care better by having in-depth knowledge of how the care and NHS systems work and the range of services available in this critical moment of your life.
By joining Bliss Care Community, you will get access to the following:
- Monthly free educational workshop for unpaid carers and access to the community.
- You will get priority access to our vacant care home rooms. (Subjected to meeting care needs)
- Priority access to day-care services at our care home with a 10% discount for non-members.
- Prioritised for respite care. (Subjected to assessment and availability)
- You can pre-book our Bliss Care van for day excursions with your family and our care staff. (Subjected to availability)
- Telephone support is available for any questions about ‘providing’ care to an elderly person during working days.
Bliss Care owns two care homes in Torquay. Aveland court and Lorna House care home. Bliss Care Community is our gift back to the Torquay community for the wellbeing of the older people in the bay.
We also welcome relatives of our existing residents as well if they wish to do so.
